Canvas Picks presents Michael Zaykov – Russian name Михаил Зайков, скульптор-, arguably one of the most famous doll sculptors worldwide! His hyper realistic (and pretty creepy!) homemade doll sculptures made him popular on Instagram and among collectors.

His artworks are so incredible that his sculptures take life! Each life-like doll is made of polymer clay and takes 2 or even 3 weeks of work to be completed. The results will leave you speechless!

Zajkov is a graduate from Kuban State University of Russia. From to 2010 to 2013 he worked making puppets for a theatre while also attending a graduate school. He was first brought to worldwide attention in 2013, when he presented five of his creations at the “Art Dolls” expo in Moscow. Zajkov uses French mohair for his creations’ hair, and hand painted glass eyes from Germany.
