Ballerina Dreams – Watercolour Poetry by Aimee Del Valle

Aimee Bramall is a British artist based in Malvern, Worcestershire. She works in two mediums; acrylic on canvas and watercolour on paper. Aimee has been heavily involved in dance and theatre her entire life and has travelled widely and lived in many different parts of the world, these two passions are reflected strongly in her art work….

“My watercolour paintings are a chance for me to play around with the paint, creating intruiging and captivating patterns and colours. I love the effect achieved by combining realistic watercolour sections with simple drawn lines to create interest in a piece. Most of my watercolours are figurative, inspired by dance and theatre life. I also love to paint animals in watercolour using quirky angles and positions to bring a slightly comedic element to a painting”

“My acrylic paintings, in stark contrast to my watercolours, are a combination of frenzied brush and spatula strokes to create movement and life. These pieces are inspired by beautiful sights I´ve seen whilst on my travels or living abroad. I like to draw upon these personal experiences to create a piece that envokes feelings of nostalgia to the viewer”.
